We send you herewith details of parts necessary for preliminary tests on the above engine. Cylinder Head. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}13 shows the main requirements for a suitable head for this job. As this part can be the most expensive item in tuning the engine, will you please ascertain the possibility of producing this head from one of the existing experimental patterns. Induction Pipe. Ex.20027/8 having the main bore increased to 1.875" and carburetter flanges to suit. S.U. carburetter type H.V.8 a sample body of which can be supplied by C.T.S. The actual area of heated surfaces should be cut down considerably (water jackets), details of which can be given when you get the job laid out on the board. Camshaft. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}965 'R' type (with .750" rad. followers). This should be located in the stores and preserved. We mention this, as it will definitely be required a little later on. High Lift Rockers. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2174, which have been completed recently. These should be kept along with camshaft Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}965, as they will be required at the same time. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/C.T.Salt. | ||
