DWS PERMANENT JACKS. TRADE MARK THE SOCIETY OF MOTOR MANUFACTURERS & TRADERS LTD DONALD SESSIONS & COMPANY LTD. 906. HARROW ROAD. WILLESDEN. LONDON. N.W.10 TELEPHONE WILLESDEN 1270 TELEGRAMS "TOGGLE, HARLES" CABLEGRAMS "TOGGLE, LONDON" X1166 9th March, 1936 J.C.Bowering, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Mr. Bowering, Re: D.W.S. HAND HYDRAULIC JACKS I have been studying the nameplates on the valve knobs in connection with your instruction panel and I am going to dare to criticise this as shown on your blue print L.E.C.5005. It would appear to me that the word "on" is misleading, inasmuch as the word "open" which is used for the release has the same function. Also the word "on" if viewed upside down, which is inevitable, reads "no" which again might be confusing. I enclose, herewith, a sketch showing a modified wording on the valve knobs with a suggested instruction panel to go with them and shall be glad to have your comments on this at your earliest convenience. Yours very truly, Donald Sessions Director DWS/IKS [Handwritten annotations] Agreed E 10/3/36 | ||
