RE KLAXON WIPER MOTORS: We have delayed replying to your LE.4/C.23.3.36. until we have had an opportunity of examining the latest examples of other makes. We do not consider the larger Klaxon motor is worth the increase in size, current consumption and weight. Undoubtedly the extra power is required because of the inefficiency of their drive. The fundamental way to improve their wiper is not to increase the size of the motor but to improve the drive efficiency which gives a bigger available torque at the wiper spindles. Flexible drives are always inefficient and the new Lucas wiper scores heavily in this respect as it has no flexibles at all Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst. | ||
