24th January, 1942.

Messrs. Wilmot Breeden, Ltd.,
Eastern Works,
Camden Street,
BIRMINGHAM.

Attention of Mr. Spicer.

Dear Mr. Spicer,

Thank you for your letter of 19th instant, and also for the Slim Flex Diary, which I shall find very useful.

I note your remarks regarding outstanding material which you have on hand for us.

We have received the four dovetails, which are the type that is commonly used with wooden pillard, i.e. with a face plate to which the female portion of the dovetail is attached. As you know, the type that we require is with the box only, which we weld into our steel body. The sliding blocks are made of special oilite bronze.

The push button switch mentioned in your letter, we have not received.

Regarding the headlamp motifs, I am arranging to have these returned to you together with the dovetails.

Regarding the templates from Messrs. Park Wards, I am afraid that it is a matter of waiting until they have got far enough with the body to enable them to make them. Although we are pushing them for all we are worth, they are unable to make but slow progress, due to the amount of war work they have in hand.

I take it that the carpet retainer which you are making for us is still going ahead. I am anxious to see a sample, so that I may be quite sure that it is what we require when the time comes to use it.

I should be pleased to see you any time that you can come over this way. I am hoping that we shall soon get some better weather so that you will be able to come along.

With kind regards,

Yours sincerely,
