The Chloride Electrical Storage Co.
Clifton Junction,
Nr. Manchester.

Dear Sirs,
6-volt unit Batteries for Phantom II chassis.

We thank you for yours ref. ECM/LJ. of the 29th ult, in answer to ours EFC2/AD. of the 27th ult. containing our enquiry re the cutting away of the handle slots, copy of which letter of ours was also sent to Messrs. P & R.{Sir Henry Royce}

Messrs. P & R's reply was in accordance with the attached copy from which you will see that they are in agreement with the suggested modification. At the same time however, they have offered a suggestion with accompanying sketch SK.4829 in regard to a form of brass insert by which only lead is exposed to the acid instead of as at present. Our own remarks on this matter are contained in the undersigned's assistant's report JD.{J. Draper - Frames}54 copy of which is also attached, as it may have some considerable bearing on your conclusions in the matter.

We shall be pleased to hear from you again on the matter when you have had an opportunity of suitably considering the points raised.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.

Enclosures.
Copy of P & R's letter
and sketch.
