PHANTOM 111 CHASSIS - RE: TYPE OF ENGINE OIL.

The Experimental Department have been running Castrol 'XL' oil on the Phantom 111 experimental cars, and with this no trouble has been experienced due to the filter for the oil feeding the silent tappets becoming choked.

Experience in service shows that when Price's Motorine 'C' has been used, that in a comparative small mileage of 1500 miles the filter to the silent tappet feed was completely blocked with sludge. In view of this, therefore, it is necessary for us to recommend Wakefield's 'XL' only for the engine.

Will BY/NW{N. Walker - Patents} kindly make the necessary correction in the usual way, as although Motorine 'C' may ultimately come back for engine work it is not suitable at the moment.
