Dear Burton,

I should be very interested to hear how you are going on out there. We have heard of course of the departure of Beaver and Hosac, but I still have a certain amount of interest in what is happening at Springfield.

I suppose that by now you have obtained delivery of the first left-hand cars. If the position is anything like it is over here we think that the chief trouble you will have will be to find buyers. Any slight troubles with the cars will be insignificant compared with this.

We are still struggling with different problems here. Now that R.{Sir Henry Royce} has returned from France we may move more rapidly.

I should be very interested to know what your further experience is with Delco shock absorbers - if you find that they are reliable and consistent. We have re-designed our shock absorber following the Delco scheme of split piston, and hope to get these on cars shortly

Another point we are interested in is radiator tubes. The American tubes are doing quite well, we will send you along a complete report shortly, but it will not be agreed that we shall import tubes from U.S.A. The only likely proposition is whether we could obtain the machines from the Winchester Co., and produce our own tubes. You might get Ross just to let me know whether this would be possible, just as a private enquiry.

We shall be very interested to hear when you are likely to have your first P.2 car running. As regards the bigger 25 HP. this is not moving as quickly as we hoped because we cannot agree amongst ourselves as regards what the specification should be.
