Dear Sirs,

Thank you for your letter of the 22nd September.

We are not sure from your letter whether the information you are asking for includes all the jacking systems which have been and are at present fitted to experimental chassis, and those in use on the test rig. If this is so, it is very possible that Jacks supplied while Mr. Bowering was dealing with the job are in the department but not known to the writer. We can of course let you know the number of Jacks, hand pumps, etc. in use at the moment. In view of your questioning, however, we should like to know whether you are intending to charge us for the Jacks fitted with loose rubbers, and also the hand pumps with non-standard insides. We consider that when these have been tested they can be returned to you for modification and then delivered with our production supplies.

As regards the engine driven pump, we hope shortly to have no further use for this, and should like then to return it to you.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
