45420 BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EX c. to BJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M3.12.27. INDIA 3. FRAME. X.5840c X.8380 X.5420 We send herewith N.schs. 2518/9. shewing the 'X' shaped 4th. cross member for the next 10,000 miles 20 HP. being used in conjunction with the longer frame side members. It will be seen that slight modifications are needed to the braking system, and probably to the front anchorage of the rear springs. Particulars of both of these will be sent in a short while, and in the meantime we do not wish you to work to the outline of the braking scheme indicated on these drawings, as it may be modified as a result of further investigation. As this piece is intended for the next 10,000 miles 20 HP. car it will be necessary to proceed with the manufacture of it at once without waiting for the model of the Phantom cross member, which is we expect coming through.
