Oy8-E-82527 -2- August 25, 1927. We can say that experience with English Phantoms indicates that they do not steer as well over here in hot weather as in England, with the original oil and tires, but that the steering is improved by changing the Price's oil for Iso-Vis gear oil. May I take this opportunity to thank you and Mr. Robotham for your many courtesies to me at Derby. Kindest regards. Yours very truly, Maurice Olley MO/E P.S. We appear to have entirely got rid of parking troubles by changing every Springfield Phantom car from 1.800 worm to the 1.625" worm of which you have particulars. This was decided and done while I was away and as soon as I cabled that R.{Sir Henry Royce} had no objections. We have had no further complaints. We have put a motor on our "cranking rig" for exercising the complete steering, and give every steering three hours of this at 15 complete oscillations a minute. With this done and a properly polished worm, and with Iso-Vis gear oil we have every indication of making the steerings equal to the "Silver Ghost two-start" which all agree were the best we ever produced at Springfield.
