1292. To HPS. {Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /C1m.16/JH.5.8.38. SHOCK DAMPER PISTONS. With reference to RHC {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} /VS. {J. Vickers} 4/JT.4.8.38. The Iron Foundry are making for us, some pistons in a heat treatable cast iron for Bentley III front shock dampers, having a thicker rim round the crown of the piston. The drawing No. is Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 548, and we should like to get a set of 4 machined as soon as possible after they come through, so that we can see if the replenishing valve mechanism can be easily assembled.
