RE SPARKINGPLUG OVERHEATING.

With reference to the above, kindly note that Mr Royce thinks that there may be some possible local overheat and that we might get better results with some more water round the plugs. He wishes you to wrap some pieces of copper pipe round the sparking plug bodies, and pass cold water through, with the object of cooling the plugs. This should show, he thinks, whether any benefit would be derived from carrying more water round the sparking plug bosses.

With reference to the experiment you once tried with the sparking plugs in the side of the cylinder, in such a position that these would be swept and cooled by the incoming mixture, we do not recollect hearing from you whether this was any good, with regard to the aforementioned point, or not. Perhaps you could let us know about this.
