Dear Sirs,

We have now got some further information with regard to the fading of the liquid, which we would like to transmit to you, in connection with the cases which you have reported to us recently.

First of all we are now of the definite opinion that it will be advantageous to adopt Crookes "A" glass for your instruments in future, as from investigations carried out at a research association in this country, and confirmed by American experience, this will have a beneficial effect on the period over which the liquid will retain its original colour. Therefore if you can see your way to sanction this modification, we will incorporate it at the earliest date in any gauges which
