Dear West,

I am sending you herewith a report on the examination of the six 850 plugs which you sent us with your letter of the 7th August.

A comprehensive examination has been made, and I honestly do not think that the plugs themselves were in any way at fault, and I think it is certainly quite definite that the lead deposits could not have caused the misfiring. You will appreciate that we are rather handicapped by not having complete details of the operating conditions under which the plugs were run, so I think that you yourself should be in a better position to actually determine the source of trouble with consideration of the facts which have been found in the laboratory examination.

I myself would be quite pleased to discuss this matter further with you if you are interested, but as I have to go away I will not be able to come up to Derby before the 10th September.

I am returning the six used plugs to you under separate cover, that one which is tightly assembled being plug No.6 on the report. I am also returning the three new plugs, and that which is loosely assembled has been subjected to break down voltage, but as the failure occurred inside the mica I do not think that any damage has been done to it.

Yours very truly,
Hrossell
