(2) Mixture Control.

The control is arranged for full strong to be the starting position and acceleration with a cold engine. When the engine is thoroughly hot the control can be moved over to full weak, which is the economical normal running position.

(3) Setting of the Low Speed Jet.

With the control in the strong or starting position, the slow running body (E.82875) must be definitely on its jet seat (E.82878).

On the second or third notch from full strong the slow running body should be just commencing to lift. It is lifted by a start thread and the control should be adjusted to the above setting by starting on the most suitable thread and if necessary fitting the adjustment washer between the control nut (E.82865) and the slow running adaptor. (E.82877). To make sure that the slow running body (E.82875) is definitely down on its seat in the strong position, the slow running sleeve (E.82876) should be in a lifted position via its 3.BA adjusting nut, before adjusting the slow running body (E.82875).

After carrying out this, the slow running sleeve can be set. With the control in the strong position, the 3.BA adjusting nut can be unscrewed until the slow running sleeve is just on its seat, and locked in this position.

When the engine is hot and the control moved over to the running position, final adjustment of the slow running is carried out by the throttle edge plug. This can be set at 250 r.p.m. and in the control "running" position should be just strong enough to maintain its speed.

(4) Assembly of Slow Running Unit.

It is very important that the sleeve (E.82876) should be perfectly free in the body (E.82875) and this likewise in the slow running adaptor (E.82877). As the control is operated there should be no signs of sticking, for it is essential to starting and idling that this mechanism should operate smoothly and freely.

(5) Starting from cold.

The slow running unit being set as previously
