10HH BT{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer}/NS{Norman Scott} [Strikethrough] c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} o.{Mr Oldham} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/S.W.O.L. [Strikethrough] C.I. CONVENTIONAL 6 and 8. CAM FORMS. Please receive herewith :- E.CD.1171 Inlet and Exhaust Cam Form - C.I. Conventional 6 and 8. This form is developed from the valve lift curve LcC.5426, which has given good results on the Bentley lll engine. The reason we cannot use the Bentley lll cam form E.CD.167 is, that the base circle of the C.I. Conventional 6 and 8 camshafts is 1.2000" dia. whereas the Bentley lll camshaft has a base circle of 1.000" dia. The arrangement of the cams on the camshafts are different from the B.60 and B.80, and is shown on the design of the tappet mechanism which has already been issued for the C.I. Conventional 8, and will shortly be issued for the C.I. Conventional 6. Will you please instruct for the master cam to be made to this form for use on the experimental C.I. Conventional 6 and 8 engines. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
