RECEIVED 29 MAY 1931 S/W. from PN.{Mr Northey} Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} 84612. PN.{Mr Northey}3/WT28.5.31. The brake-drums on two of our Demonstration cars i.e. 129-GN and 26-EX have lost most of the black enamel which I understand is painted on at Derby. This is apparently due to the enamel being unsuitable, having regard to the heating-up possible. We are repainting these from time to time by hand with ordinary enamel, but it would be much more satisfactory if we could hear from you that you are adopting some process or paint which does not suffer from this disability. An area of rusty, unpainted brake-drum undoubtedly looks very shabby. PN.{Mr Northey} | ||
