Attached herewith is a copy of a telegram we have received from Mr. Royce. We suggest that it is advisable to revert back to the quarter locking pin for the gudgeon pin; we think this is the safest policy. We have had now 4 of the 2.BA locking screws break, whereas I never remember a single instance of the quarter locking screw breaking.
Even if it can be proved that the screws are breaking due to bad fitting, we still think the wisest and safest proceedure would be to increase the size of the screw and also improve the fitting.
