Re Chassis 93 NK.

After our last test of steering on the 13th inst., we found the N.S.F. spring broken. This has been replaced by a spring sent from Derby.

As we were returning, we decided to have a general look round the car, and get everything ship shape for our journey home.

We have not dismantled the engine, but upon taking the filter out we found small particles of white metal. This indicates that the conrods are evidently going to give trouble once more. As the amount of metal we found was so slight, we have decided to run the car home, and investigations can be made there.

We are leaving Chateauroux to-morrow, the 16th inst., and should, without mishap arrive in Derby on Saturday evening.

If we are not too late, I will run the car up to your house for instructions, etc.

Messrs. Dodd Brasier & Thornhill are travelling with the car, along with myself. Messrs. Lytton, Frost & Butler are leaving Chateauroux by the 1.30 a.m. train to-morrow, and should arrive in Derby at 9 p.m. the same day. They will, therefore, report to you on Friday morning.

Our present oil consumption is working out at approximately 220 m.p.g. We are therefore carrying a supply of oil with us. We have replaced the side steering tube springs with the original ones fitted. We trust that you have sent red number plates down to Dover, c/o the R.A.C. official.

G.W.Hancock.
