Recommendations to resolve an overheating issue on chassis 117-WJ, regarding the fan belt and front undershield.

With further reference to the over-heating trouble reported on 117-WJ. We make the following recommendations in this case - (1) The Phantom ll fan belt is normally spring loaded. An appreciable increase in cooling efficiency can sometimes be obtained by screwing the spring adjustment down choc-a-bloc, and so obtaining positive tensioning of the fan belt. This is a feature which is certainly worth trying. (2) We further consider that it is justifiable in a complaint such as this, to remove the front undershield during the summer months when a car is operated under particularly strenuous conditions. This will be found to reduce over-heating troubles to a considerable extent. Attached is a sketch of the front undershield which might be useful to the agents to shew them exactly what we suggest they remove.
