X7250 To Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/MJ.18.12.29. RADIATOR JELLYING. X7250. X7380. During the last visit to W.W. we understand that the question of stiffening up the front of the Phantom II frame was discussed and that R.{Sir Henry Royce} agreed that tests ought to be carried out. We ourselves are very hopeful that this improvement may enable us to get away with ultra-flexible engine feet such as the Diabolo rubbers on 20-EX because the front end movement was not exceptionally bad on this car. Before commencing these tests we should like to have your views on how we should carry out the stiffening of the frame forward of the front engine feet. To do this in a way that would give useful information to W.W. requires a certain amount of design and we would rather not undertake this.
