Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}S/KT. June 24th. 1932. W. Oxley Esq., Cadillac Motor Car Co, Detroit, Michigan U. S. A.{Mr Adams} Dear Cy, One of the features that struck us most when in the States, was the excellence of the Cadillac steering. We should like to obtain a Cadillac steering column and box to try on one of our own cars over here. We send you a sketch showing the existing arrangement of the steering leverage on our Phantom II, from which you will be able to see at a glance if your steering box ratio is such that we should run into any serious difficulty in fitting it on to the car. What we want to do is to get hold of a steering column and box as soon as ever possible The best thing is to let us have a pendulum lever and steering wheel as well so that we have a complete job. We trust that you will give us preferential treatment in the matter of cost, and also give us the latest job. We enclose our official order so that you can get the matter straight financially your end. I conjecture that you don't want any more bad debts just now! Yours sincerely, FOR ROLLS ROYCE LTD | ||
