To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} X530 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}25/KW.17.7.36. 25 HP. Steering. Owing to the recent failures we have experienced with the ball bearings on the roller follower of the 25 HP. steerings we have decided to have the grinding and assembling of these bearings carried out by Ransome & Marles. We propose to obtain 15 sets of rollers made in this manner. Detail drawings F.61281/2/3/4/5/6 have been prepared in accordance with particulars received from Ransome and Marles and we have ordered 15 rollers to F.61281. Will you please make as soon as possible 30 inner races to F.61283 and 15 distance pieces to F.61286. These parts should be handed to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FJH{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} when completed, and are urgently required as at present the Adamant Engineering Co. are unable to attain the degree of accuracy required on these bearings, so that we wish to standardise manufacture by Ransome & Marles as soon as possible.
