E.L.E. ID.55. X3498 13-2-30. X3498. Ferranti Ammeters Type B.S.I. 5 instruments of the above type nos 32352/6 made to a similar finish as our Standard Elliott have been tested. They are of a matt black finish as compared with the bright black of the Elliott & Park Royal instruments. The pointer would be better (for reading) if the pear shaped end was lower in relation to the scale & made more slender & pointed at the indicating end. A similar modification was carried out on the Park Royal instruments. It would also be an improvement if the 5 & 15 divs: were distinguished by having a slightly longer stroke the reading could then be taken readily. I suppose this would be put right if standardised by having the Std: type of finish dial. (contd) | ||
