Cam finishing, platinum point pressure, and the compression of grey fibre material.

(b) Whether the cam was well finished.
(c) What was the pressure on the platinum points.

The grey fibre used should be compressed in small squares of about .75 in.² area. These are put into the hydraulic press two at a time and are compressed with the maximum load, which makes them about 75% of their original thickness. They gradually recover about another 5%, giving 20% final contraction.
