X4003 To E.RG.{Mr Rowledge} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} From R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BJ. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} CAMS FOR F.10. COMPENSATED FOR AIR AND FRICTION INLET. R2/M13.2.27. X.4003 X.3822 I have received print Lec.2378., and agree that there is considerable chance of cams made to this diagram being an improvement. One's only fear is that it may be over-ambitious in the rapid acceleration and deceleration to make it easier for the valve spring and give long opening for great power. I agree however for a set being pushed forward at greatest possible speed. They are for the separate rollerless rockers, and for spring of the greater rating and less max. stress and high force when open. This is an extremely urgent matter and should have every push possible. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
