1135 Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.7/MH.{M. Huckerby} 14th. July 1938. Messrs. Ferodo Ltd., CHAPEL-EN-LE-FRITH. For the attention of Mr.Longley. Dear Sirs, We are returning to you a "Ferogrip" fan belt to our drawing Ew.1775 which after about 15 hours test bed running and a further 10,000 miles road running has failed. Failure appears to consist of the cords pulling out of the rubber bonding. In view of our previous trouble of this nature on the Phantom belt we would like to have your comments on this failure as soon as possible. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
