Opens 59°C Full open 65°C This car has just been in for attention. The owner asked us to ascertain that the radiator shutters were working correctly, and on going into the job, we found that these opened at 60°. We removed the original spring in the Callorstat, and replaced it with one of a heavier pattern, with the result that the shutters opened at 70° bare. It was noticed that with the shutters fully opened, no pressure was needed to close them against the Callorstat. We thereupon removed the latter altogether, and fitted a replacement, which functioned perfectly, with the result that a good pressure was required to move the shutters against the load of the Callorstat. The new one was left on, and the car went away, as finished with. The displaced Callorstat is being returned to the Works for your attention, and repair, after which, please let us have it back for Stock. Will BP. please have this handed over Std upon receipt.
