BEVEL ON SCRAPER PISTON RING. Origin. To overcome over-oiling and smoking. C Scrap present stock and replace on all Chassis not yet handed to test. D Use existing stock Alteration effective on future Chassis. Experimental Test Report. The lower ring on the piston which acts as a scraper ring is bevelled on the lowe edge. We are receiving complaints of excessive smoking on the Goshawk cars. It becomes worse as they become worn. Road Test Report. Run 9500 miles on 1-G-11. successfully. Run 3500 miles on 3-G-11. " 1500 " " 7-G-11.
