X719 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. to ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}9/LG24. 8. 28. X4468 'TENOID' BRAKE LININGS. We have started a standardisation sheet for this material. The grade which has proved satisfactory is designated 'P' by the manufacturers. We suggest that to begin with, say 25% of the Phantom cars on production are equipped with Tenoid brake linings. Obviously we require confirmation of our experimental results before we can say definitely that this material is superior to the Ferodo we are at present using when supplied by the manufacturers in quantities. So far, however, it has shewn very great promise. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
