To. [redacted] & Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}....From RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister} Handwritten: 1297. File for WYMAN RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}1/MC.29.3.38. AIR SILENCERS Further to RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/SB.{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}1/MC.19.3.38., quotations are now available which show that the adaption of steel end caps to prevent rattles on Wraith air silencer will provide a saving of 4d per chassis. Contrary to expectations, the makers are prepared to manufacture the inner frame, E.83767, from 18 SWG S/D, using existing tools, and it will, therefore, not be necessary to adopt the two piece construction previously proposed by us. All existing aluminium end caps and frames are now delivered for Bentley 'M' series, and we suggest that Wraith frame, E.83767, and end cap, E.83764, be ordered in 18 SWG S/D for all production chassis.
