Improving ignition component windings and insulation to resolve ongoing difficulties.

EFC2/T29.1.23. -2- Contd. resistance may be such that sufficient magnetising effect is possible at all speeds without unduly reducing the ballast. Another reason is that with the six-layer primary we have so little room for primary insulation by the time the necessary number of secondary turns have been allowed for, that we have not been altogether free from breakdowns of the primary winding. The four-layer primary would, with the same number of secondary turns, allow us to put between each layer strips of .002" oiled silk, whereas previously we have put no insulation between the primary layers. We think this would be a move that would settle up so much of the ignition difficulty which we have and are still experiencing. EFC. | ||
