Stating disagreement with the removal of tiebars from car 10-EX, insisting on their replacement for structural integrity.

While we wish to have good appearance we cannot sacrifice our mechanical principles in order to achieve it. Our experience is that with standard body mountings, tiebars are essential to the open touring car to prevent the panels from cracking at the corners of the doors. In this particular respect 10-EX requires the tiebars more than any ordinary open car for two reasons, firstly, it is a car which is expected to travel at high speeds over very rough roads, and secondly, it has a large depth of panel below the door.
