PHANTOM 111 - REAR SPRINGS.

I wish to confirm my verbal instructions that you are to order half a dozen top plates for the rear spring with the front end only made suitable for the large rubber - the rolled eye to follow the general form that we have used on Phantom ll and 20/25, not the special riveted form suggested by the Design Department.

The rear end of the eye should be to take a standard bush, the front end to take the rubber which is at present fitted to the large solid eye.

These will be used as alternatives by the Experimental Department in obtaining their results, as we would prefer the rolled eye if it would stand up to the 15,000 miles test, our preference being based upon the reduced cost.
