Messrs. Borg & Beck Co.Ltd., T/110
Tachbrook Road,
Leamington Spa.

For the attention of Mr. Armitage.

Dear Sirs,

re 10" CLUTCH.

With reference to our 'phone conversation of this morning, we are sending to Mr. Gerard Young of The Tempered Spring Co., Burton Weir Works, Sheffield, the 6 Brown springs which Mr. Armitage brought back to our works on his last visit, and attach a copy of our letter to Mr. Young.

We are posting to you 9 brown springs removed from a new and unused clutch, and inside each spring is a small tag with two poundage figures written on each, these being the readings from two new Avery spring testers in different departments of our Works, and the two readings agree in all cases within 1%.

The mean poundage of this set of springs is 139 lbs. or 8% under 151 lbs.

We acknowledge with thanks your letter of 27th from Mr. Barker just to hand, and the writer will be pleased to meet you at the Midland Hotel, Derby at 12-30 tomorrow, Friday.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
