RE: NEW LUCAS HEADLAMPS.

I visited Messrs Lucas yesterday and discussed the final arrangements for the wiring and marking of the footswitch in connection with the scheme for changeover to double filament bulbs on the Continent.

The attached diagram EL.435 illustrates the agreed arrangement of wiring and colouring, including the marking of the terminals on the footswitch.

To change from British single dip and switch to the French double filament one has to remove the green wire from terminal E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and fix to terminal C. and connect up the wires orange and black in the headlamps to the dipped filament terminal on the special bulb adaptors which can be obtained for French running.

The remaining wires in the lamps i.e. green in the near side and blue in the off side will be connected to the main filaments.

It is not intended to supply these double filament lamp bulb adaptors with every lamp as this would be an expensive item but they can be obtained on request whenever a car is being run for any length of time on the Continent.
