With reference to E.2/HP.10.2.37, some years ago we asked the Works to broach the grooves right through from end to end and to fill the end up with white metal, but they were not able to do this satisfactorily at the time, but if the Works now find it possible to completely fill up the ends of the grooves there is, of course, no reason why we should not standardise same instead of continuing with the blind-ended grooves. If RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} will now confirm that the soldering will be satisfactory we will arrange for our detail drawings to be altered accordingly. BY.{R.W.
