Chassis No. B.87.LE.

AVHR 11 1938

As I believe you are already aware, the above visited London yesterday in order to inspect new cars. He has decided in favour of a 4 1/4-litre Bentley with H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Mulliner body and he specially asked us to inform you of his purchase so that you would kindly have the chassis specially tested.

I find, however, that the chassis which has been allotted is as above and this was dispatched from the Works yesterday. We are therefore asking JLE{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} to test this chassis but no doubt you would like to have this information.
