PHANTOM III CARBURETTOR - SECTION 5080. With reference to memo. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GR.{George Ratcliffe}13/MH.{M. Huckerby}12.11.37. it was recommended that smaller main jets .056 should be standardised. These are now revoked if the bias tilt to the carburettor is adopted. The following cars were fitted with the carburettor having a forward tilt of 4½°. 3.BU.122. Petrol pumps : low pressure on dashboard. 3.BU.190 - - - - 3.CP.30 - - - - 3.CM.87 - - : high pressure in frame. The fuel level in each case was not altered and when tilted gave .750" as compared with .625" normal. In order to maintain performance the existing main jets .058 were retained.
