x300a To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Lillie Hall, Oct. 5th, 1936. 35-EX. I tried this car on my way to Kingsbury. The engine has remained quiet and is now free from exhaust smoke, after idling. The clutch is fair. One cannot take any liberties with it. It is inclined to squeak with a rapid engagement. The gearbox is tabboo so I understand, but on three occasions starting away I was under the impression that the second gear was engaged when it was not. Springing is very soft and I should say good for London and Town Work. The ride control does not seem sufficient for controlability at speed. The steering is light and more free from joggles than when last I tried the car. Brakes are good for Town work. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/G.W.Hancock. | ||
