To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to CJ. c. to Rn.{Mr Robinson} c. to EH. c. to EFC. E1/G13.6.19. RE 20 H.P. BONNET AND RADIATOR X3561. X.3-31. We send you herewith drawing No.LeC.1104 shewing the 20 H.P. Bonnet and Radiator quarter-scale, and a comparison between the appearance of the 40/50 H.P. and 20 H.P. cars to be a scale of 1/20. The scuttle dashboard shewn is deeper than given on the coachbuilder's drawing of the 20 H.P. to enable the wind-screen to be moved nearer to the front seats. It has been found necessary to add a small pocket to the right hand side place of the bonnet to accomodate the steering lever boss. It may also be found necessary to slightly modify the magneto drive, so as to bring the magneto itself within the limits of the bonnet shewn. Particulars of this will be sent later. The radiator is supposed to be 4" thick on the outside, but the matrix is only about 2 1/2" deep, so as to leave room for shutters between the radiator and the fan. Would you please get a model of the bonnet made in wood, to the dimensions shewn on LeC.1104. Will you kindly return us a filing blue print from the pencil drawing as soon as possible, and also three blue prints from LeC.1104 ink tracing, also as soon as possible.
