Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. For the attention of Mr. A.{Mr Adams} Swindren. Dear Sirs, With reference to the writer's call on you in regard to the subject of automatic choke controls, we now have pleasure in enclosing you blue print No.EX.SK.10618 covering the final design. The model which you had as a sample closely resembles this drawing, with the exception that we supplied a rolling ring instead of a rubber bellows. The unit sent you had the following characteristics - 1 3/8" o/d bellows. 9 live convolutions, filled with 10 c.c. of acetone, to move at 50°C full movement 73°C, maximum lift at 73°C, 10 m/m measure on the spindle in the centre of the unit. We now confirm that we are making up another unit which we will fill with pentane or ether and as both these liquids have low boiling points you will be able to use an adjustable spring load in order to decide the best setting for the conditions under which you wish to operate. Yours faithfully, For S. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LIMITED. [Signature] QS. To avoid delay all envelopes should be addressed to the firm. | ||
