X To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. C. c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/AD22.10.29. SPRINGING OF 43-KR CAR. The results of our tests generally agree with the report of Mr. Harcombes. Before the car left Derby we got Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} to try it, and in his opinion he thought they would have no difficulty in turning out cars with a similar quality of riding. The work which was done on your car was the bedding of the spring leaves and cadmium plating them, (this is now standard,) and readjustment of the loads on the shock absorbers. We think by far the biggest improvement is made by the attention to the springs. We are however confirming what difference the alteration in the shock absorber setting makes. At present Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} has a Phantom I car in for attention to the springing, and the test will be made on that car. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
