speeds than that obtained with the 110° camshaft, but it falls short at the lower speeds. See V.423. for full comparison.

It should be noted that the power curve of the 110° camshaft was taken with the nozzle E.77799 fitted in the induction pipe, whereas the curve of the 116° shaft was taken without it. As the absence of the nozzle improves the power at high speeds, the curve for the 110° shaft would probably assume the position shewn in lighter dotted line, under these conditions, hence this curve should be used for a strict comparison.


The eccentric drive of the vacuum pump shews slight signs of insufficient lubrication (after 26 hrs. running). This point will be carefully watched for further trouble.

The ease with which the tappets may be adjusted would be improved by the adoption of a finer thread on the ball end of the rockers; the present one demands very careful handling to effect an accurate setting.
