Contd. -2- EFC3/T31.5.21. every respect this machine comes so near to our requirements that we can say that it is the first machine so far that satisfies us. The heating test of this machine has been carried out with satisfactory results and a table of comparative heating tests of inherently controlled dynamos at constant output 9 amps. at 14.6 volts will shortly be sent by which the performances of various machines in this respect can be directly compared. We wish again to state that in our opinion Messrs. Smith have put themselves out quite a lot in order to meet our requirements and have done more than any other firm in this direction. Now that Messrs. Smith have practically met our requirements, in the matter of the dynamo, we consider that some steps should be taken to settle the question of a suitable switchbox to enable the Smith dynamo and cutout to be standardised on the 40/50 chassis.
