J.Howlett, Esq.,
Wellworthy Piston Rings Ltd.,
Lymington, Hants:

Dear Howlett,

Elliott has handed me your letter of the 24th. November.

We do not know how this stuff compares with that called "sintered bronze" which is produced by the Cleveland Graphite Co. This seems to be remarkably good stuff. The material we used was bonded to steel and then the two were rivetted on the driven plate of the clutch, but obviously it could have been stuck on the steel clutch plate direct. If the samples we have tried out from Cleveland Graphite are in any way representative of the material produced by the Wellman Co., it should be worth taking up.

Next time you, or one of your representatives, are in Derby, we shall be pleased to show you the type of sintered bronze we have been testing and the results we have obtained.

Yours sincerely,
