S.U. CARBURETTERS.
Please note we have to complain of the unsatisfactory state and finish of the S.U. Carburetters now being delivered to us.
Among the many points about which we are complaining are the following:-
(1) Flash in float chamber covers, and also in bottom of float chamber.
(2) Poor plating on Jaw at control end of jet, these have a tendency to rust.
(3) Retaining Studs for Float Chamber are very badly out of centre, and Nuts are too tight on stud, causing Studs to become loose.
(4) Enamel is being left on face of Float Chamber Cover causing a poor joint between Cover and Chamber.
(5) The Top of Air Chamber where the Knurled Nut fits is in a very dirty condition, machine cuttings being left in.
(6) The screws for retaining the Throttle Plate are a poor fit in thread, also a large burr is being left on head of Screw.
We are returning to Stores 8 of these Carburetters, and shall be glad if you will give instructions for these to be sent back to the makers.
There has been quite a distinct falling off in quality on recent deliveries of Carburetters from the S.U. Co.
