Hr/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 26/6/20. MINUTES OF DAILY CONFERENCE 25TH JUNE 1920. Present:- Copies to:- Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} R.{Sir Henry Royce} Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} CJ. Hr. C. Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} En. EP.{G. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} (1) AMERICAN CHASSIS. In spite of the cable which Mr. Nadin sent from U.S.A. stating that they had agreed in U.S.A. to make exactly the same chassis as was made at Derby, and also in spite of the cable sent by Mr. Bailey on 18/5/20, stating that it was essential that the American chassis must be the same as the Derby chassis; three letters from Mr. Nadin and Mr. Olley, dated 4th, 5th, and 7th June, have been received at Derby, still urging adoption of American parts on American chassis. The parts in question not having been tested out and therefore not standardised by Derby, cannot be considered by us. The Conference were very greatly disturbed at this attitude by our representatives in the States, and asked Mr. Bailey to wire Mr. Claude Johnson in New York, quoting references of these three letters, and asking him to take necessary steps. (2) AUSTRALIAN AND SIMILAR SERVICE STATIONS. Mr. Bailey brought forward the question of supplying the Australian and similar Service Stations with information necessary to enable them to check, that pieces called for by number, by clients, are supplied correctly. This was discussed by the meeting and it was agreed that catalogues of parts should be supplied to these Service Stations, and also Arrangement Drawings. The | ||
