[Handwritten: #] to HY{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} from EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} copy to. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} [Handwritten: *8630x780] EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/7.11.27. S E C R E T. [Handwritten initials: ds] RE BODIES FOR E.A.C.14. We send herewith N.Sch.2500, shewing the rear support of the body and the ironing of the main rear pillar. In order that we may get the job done correctly with the minimum of delay, we are asking you to make three sets, not only of the bracket on the chassis frame, but of the cross member and the ironing plates also. The tube can be obtained from Messrs Accles & Pollack of Oldbury, Birmingham. It is section number 270. and we wish it to be supplied in No.18 gauge. We would point out that a similar tube is required for the front end and therefore two off per chassis can be ordered. Three bodies are in hand. To still further facilitate matters we would be glad if Derby would supply a complete set of bolts. We are rather anxious about the hardwood packing which we shew driven into the tube. Should this not meet with success, we shall be obliged to use an aluminium casting. We would, therefore, like Derby to report on this point. As the body supporting bracket fouls the earth terminal it will be necessary for Derby to allocate a new place to the latter. As these pieces will have to be built into the body at a fairly early stage, we would be glad if the coachbuilders could have them soon. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} [Handwritten signature] | ||
