(6) Injection pressures up to 5000 lbs/sq.in. (340 atm) are fairly satisfactory, but above this figure, wear and tear on the pump and injector become rather severe.
(7) Standard performance figures show 102 BMEP at 2000 R.P.M. and 125 BMEP at 1000 R.P.M.

Bosch injection pump (10m/m dia. plunger).
Camshaft drives are through helical splines and the phasing of the valves may be varied by 20°.
The injection timing may be varied by 34°.
Big end bearing.............. 3.000 dia. x 2.500 long.
Gudgeon pin................. 1.250 dia.
Injection nozzle central in head.
Pointed top piston.

Engine speed................ 2000 R.P.M.
Max. pressure............... 1000 lbs/sq.in.
Injection valve lifts at.... 2000 lbs/sq.in.
Jacket water temp........... 75°-80°C.
Oil temp.................... 55°-60°C.
Valve timing:-
I.O. 12°L; I.C. 28°E; E.O. 30°E; E.C. 10°L.
Fuel injection for normal load.. .235 cc/cycle.
(Assumed vol. effy. 80%; 30% excess air and air/fuel ratio 14/1 by weight).
